Missing the kids!!

Thank you Grammy, Ashley or Aunt, Papaw, and Michael for watching the kiddos for me this weekend!! I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed on Friday so they have kept the kiddos so I can recover and rest!! You guys are the BEST!!! I am feeling pretty good, but sore, swollen, and exhausted. Kris has been taking good care of me, waiting on me hand and feet. I have literally slept most of the time. It is wierd being here in the house without the kids. Very quiet around here!! They took the kids to the petting zoo this afternoon, and mom says that they have not even asked for us. Can't wait to see the kiddos tomorrow. Thanks again guys!!

I won!!!

Just a quick update, I won!! She wore the Ladybug dress all day long. She did tell me when I picked her up that it was still not her favorite, but it stayed on all day. One of the many battles along the way I'm sure.

The Lady Bug Dress

Well, let me just start by saying that I have my work cut out for me!! A couple of weeks ago I was excited about the warm weather because Harlee was given this cute dress, and it was going to be the perfect day to wear it. I put the dress on her with her fighting the entire time. She was pulling on her dress and saying she was not going to wear it. I told her how much I liked it and I thought the dress was very pretty! She then said "then you wear it". Oh no!!! She continued to tell me she was NOT going to wear the dress. Well, little did she know that her mother is as hard headed as she is. I dropped her off at daycare wearing the cute lady bug dress. When I picked her up that afternoon she was wearing different clothes. Since we are now potty trained I obviously thought that she had an accident and had to change clothes. Wrong! Once I left her in her classroom she began telling her teachers that she did not like her ladybug dress and they needed to change her clothes. Her teacher told her that she needed to wear the dress that Mommy had put her in. She continued to complain and even showed her teacher the extra set of clothes in her cubby. She told her teachers that she needed to go potty even though she had just been about 5 minutes before. She went into the bathroom, stuck her dress in the potty and then said ok, now change my clothes! Ugh! We have been out smarted by a 2 year old!! If it were me I would have made her wear the dress, potty water and all, but I guess they can't do that at day care. If I did not have to work that night I would have washed the dress that night and sent her back to school in the same dress the next day. Later that evening she told Nana that it was a berry uggy dress, and she was berry mad at her mommy. When I asked her about the dress the next day she said that it was not her favorite, and it was berry uggy. When I told her that we were going to give the dress to another little girl who would love it and not put it in the potty she changed her mind and decided she would give it another try.
So...here we go. We are trying the dress again today. She said this morning that it is still not her favorite, but will wear it. I had to work it up a little bit this morning and bribe her with a treat if she makes it all day wearing the dress. So we will see who wins this battle. I am keeping my fingers crossed that she will be in the same dress this afternoon. I think that the dress is adorable!! How could she think that it is uggy? Two year olds!?! I can only imagine how hard headed she will be as a teenager!

Thomas

This weekend we went to Lubbock, or as Harlee would say Luvik. Grammy took us all to spend a day with Thomas. When we first got there they had several activities for the children. They got to play with trains and tracks, and color and stamp their own pictures. Bode was so excited and was on cloud nine.

All of the kids had a really good time, and were really good. Bode did have a meltdown on the train. They had balloons that were supposed to stay in the air without touching the ground. Bode did not think that he should have to let it go.

After the ride they even got to meet Sir Topham Hatt. No one even seemed to care or even complained that we were wet and freezing from the rain and hail!!

We also celebrated Ashley's birthday and Easter. The kids all did really good while dying easter eggs, they all took turns and were very patient. We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!!

Easter Bunny and Macamoni

This evening Ashley and I took the kids to see the Easter Bunny. They were all so good. They all loved him and nobody was scared! Yea! Harlee told him that she loved him and Bode was blowing kisses. We had a hard time getting Gage to smile at first, until he saw the sucker he was going to get. It was pretty funny. Kelton was so big and a great example to the younger kiddos. After we went to one of our favorites, Mc A's!!! The twins LOVE the macamoni, so does Gage! Kelton ate every bite of his sandwich. Ashley and I both c0mmented on how good all 4 of the children were, but it was just the 2 of us so we had no witnesses. It is odd that we can take them all out to eat without a scene! Never a dull moment. I am in a much better mood now that my computer is up and running now. We have had some technical difficulties! It is totally the user, but, just as frustrating.

Don't have a heart attack

Yes I am blogging. I got a new laptop and now am able to use it. Ashley says that it is only because Michael showed me how, but she doubts I will be able to use it on my own tomorrow. We will see. My new job is going well, well actually not a new job anymore just new since the last time I blogged. The kids are still adjusting to both Kris and I working nights. They are so very 2 with lots of personality and attitude. Harlee is completely potty trained and Bode is not interested in the potty at all. He will sit on the potty for ever and then stand up and tee tee in his underwear. Argh!! We are getting excited about next weekend. We are going to Lubbock for a crazy weekend. We are going to ride on Thomas the Train, go to Caden's soccer game, celebrate Ashley's 26th birthday and Easter. We will be running around like chickens with our heads cut off, but it will be fun!!! Got a new camera also, so pictures will be coming soon. I promise to be a better blogger!
